8. And just maybe...

A letter to a former friend regarding just this from 2019:

Well, Let's just let it go then.

Two things though

1) Politics isn't a game. A game is like when the Packers loose the Super Bowl and I feel bad, but NOTHING actually happens to me. Politics is when criminals get elected and I take it up the ass economically. I got fucked over with the shitty post-Vietnam/oil embargo economy that Nixon/Ford stuck Carter with. I got slapped-around financially through the 12 years of Reagan/Bush Voodoo Economics. Never made so much money in my life as I did under Clinton's economy (until Bush murdered it around 2003-2004 - just like Trump is murdering the Obama economy as we speak). Lived through the double-down Voodoo Economics 2.0 of Cheney/Bush and watched as my industry spiraled down the drain. The I lost my job (Corporate closed the Wausau office for financial reasons - nothing I did, or could do about it) and suddenly, after years of head-hunters calling me, couldn't fucking buy another one which put stress on my marriage, which contributed to a divorce. Then I started a business that the people at the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Development Administration, and the Dennis L. Heyde Entrepreneur Program at the UWEC all told me was a great idea and a "gold mine". And it was at first. But all of my clients were in the home building and remodeling business and there was a time bomb in the Republican "Voodoo" economy. When that bomb went off, it ruined all of my clients and then, it ruined me too. I had a $300,000 house ($500,000 n today's money - this was written a while back) that I designed and built myself working every single day for over a year (while also doing my day job) that became my prison for 17 months while having to put up with real estate hustlers offering me 50 cents on the dollar for it. Went through about $100,000 in equity, my cashed out retirement fund, and another $35,000 from my Aunt's estate (farm) just to hang on and not be thrown into the street while bankers, the same fucking criminals that caused the disaster, harassed me day and night 24/7. And there wasn't a goddamn thing I could do about it. I finally sold it after 17 months for $229,000 (worth $500,000 today) and walked out with a little under $6,000, for a lifetime of work! Now here's the point. If the Supreme Court hadn't intervened and installed Bush, and Gore kept us on the same economic path with the same oversight and regulations as Clinton, there's a 90% chance that none of that shit would have even happened. We were on-track to PAY OFF the national debt by ~2010-2012 for Christ's sake! Now it's approaching 20 trillion! Just think about that for a minute.

Here's another thought. What if Gore hadn't been fucked out of the presidency by the Republican SCOTUS? What if he actually listened to the outgoing Clinton administration's warnings about Osama bin Laden? What if he paid close attention to the foreign and domestic intelligence briefings instead if ignoring them like fucking Bush did (especially the August 6th memo explicitly stating that the fuckers were going to attack us domestically using airplanes), and put all of our law enforcement, intelligence, and military assets on alert and we caught those motherfuckers before they could pull it off? Bush: 9/11; War in Afghanistan; War in Iraq; Economic Depression; Trillions in Debt. Bud is financially ruined, loses everything, and has to work until he drops dead. Gore: No 9/11; No War in Afghanistan; No War in Iraq; No Economic Depression; National Debt "0"; After a long career as a carpenter, construction manager and private successful business owner, Bud retires comfortably to his long ago paid-off $325,000 home that he designed an built for himself and his family.

Don't ever tell me that politics is a "game" or "stupid" or that both sides are the same because they're fucking not. As inept, meek, and sometime just plain chickenshit as the Democrats often are, they at least give at least a partial fuck about me and know how to make the economy work for the middle and working class. And they don't knowingly and willfully fuck me over at the behest of their corporate criminal masters. Just one more thing on that. If these fuckers crash this economy out again, as a lot of economists are once again predicting, don't count on yours, or anyone's, retirement fund being solvent. And that goes for the social security fund as well. So when you're in the voting booth next time, think about that.

2) You get mean when you're drunk and you got pretty nasty and personal with me. Don't call me when you're like that anymore.
