The tariffs are/were a policy disaster in every way and Trump and the GOP were going to own the chaos and economic catastrophe.

Now we may still be looking at a recession (which they will blame on "deep-state communist activist judges" that won't let Trump do what he wants), but not a full-blown depression. MAGA will embrace this spin as reality.
