is that there is no similarity whatsoever. The U.S. and Japan were not at war at the time of Pearl Harbor, although tensions were certainly very high. Second, Russia was the original aggressor against Ukraine. A better way to characterise this attack by Ukraine is to compare it to America’s Doolittle Raid on the Japanese mainland. (For those who don’t know the history, the Doolittle Raid was said to have been launched from Shangri-la to hide the fact that the U.S. had been able to launch B-25 bombers from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet).
