How far have we come since 2017? [View all]

During Trump's first term, he spoke briefly of a military parade. It was laughed down and never brought up again. Until now.

Nobody took it that seriously in 2017. Trump retreated.

But, here we are in 2025 and we are all bracing and marching and reacting to the Trump Birthday/Military Parade which is less than 2 weeks away. It is reported that 9,000 American troops will march in the "parade". There is opposition all across the nation. Yet, it goes on.

This is an indicator of just how far we have come since 2017. Perhaps it is more accurate to say, how far we have sank into authoritarianism?
