protest and hope it goes well.
I also think that "No King" isn't strong enough, but over the entire Great Protest spectrum, it fits onto signs, is straight to the point, and everybody knows to whom it refers. I think there should be his face in gold with a circle slash on it.
But, when speaking about rump's intentions, I think that "King" is not quite right. He may want the homage due Kings--and the Pope, apparently--the ceremony, etc. but he is turning into a dictator. He's a single man, doesn't come from a royal lineage, and he announced his intention to be a dictator. Moreover, only dictators have welcomed him into the Black Circle, where he studied under their advice. No royal monarchy has done that. I'm not sure where Charles ended up, but he's sick right now, and if something happens, I think William is tough enough.
I have noticed that people strip down the rhetoric, soften the nomenclature, and have fun with the "King" reference. Well, he doesn't aspire to that. He likes gold, family crests, and now a parade in his "honor," like he's worth millions to justify this wasteful parade. But, he's a dark, evil figure nothing like a Monarch of today.
He's not my President. He's not your President. He's not a King, but he is a dictator. He is the same as Hitler was, in the 1930s. All those Republicans helping him will one day be very, very regretful. But, none will care, because we are exhausted with stress and fright, and there is no justification for this.
One other thing: In the end, we will have to deal with the military branches. If this is the anniversary of the Army--I should know, but I don't remember--we should be friendly, some "Thank you, Army!" type signs might be important, because they are ALL HE'S GOT in order to keep his dictatorship. He may have made an outrageous mistake not shaking hands at West Point.
His contempt for the military shines forth, and I guarantee these men and women know the real reason for the parade. They are not stupid. We need to do things that assures the military branches that when push comes to shove--and it will--they belong to us. So, something positive for them is in order.
"No King Day" is important. This is what will get rid of Rump, millions in the streets. It's a big deal. I am so grateful to those who arranged it, and those showing up.
