Because, just like this Russian idiot, none of them ever took a fucking Biology class--or they slept through the one the did take.

And, of course Putin is insincere about ending his war. His country has a war economy, and it was already terrible going into it. End the war, their economy collapses, and he's totally fucked. Which he probably already is, but it just hasn't caught up to him yet.
