We have a culture that glorifies greed and sees the Forbes list of the richest people as the ultimate sporting event, glory be to whoever the richest person is at the moment.

A decent culture would shame the rich into using their wealth for the good of society, not by investing in more greed machines, but through charity and making the economy work better for more of us.

Instead, we rely on "incentives" to get them to at least not hoard their wealth and put it to work investing in more greed machines. That's the best we can do apparently. The tax cuts are the incentive for them to try to get even wealthier through further business ventures.

The rest of have the incentive of basic survival. We have to work to eat and work to have a roof over our heads. So no tax cuts for us, we're already motivated to do our part. That motivation doesn't apply to the super rich, so they get tax cuts.

As Yakov Smirnoff said, "what a country."
