General Discussion

We are all mad and WANT to shame these people for putting us in this place. But that is not the path to victory and recovery.
We need to welcome them in. Do the blaming/FUs in private and get it out of your system. Our anger is justified. It just isn't strategic.

In the end these are people who misjudged, made mistakes, and can't take it back (have you ever made any you wish you could do over? I have!!!). But they can be dammed by us forever--or they can be forgiven and welcomed into the fold. We aren't here to judge someone's political acumen or critical thinking, and we cannot take into account the influences of their upbringing or community which might be very different from ours. We need to celebrate that anyone able to change positions and admit their error is thoughfut and courageous. The fact that they took longer to get there than we did may have more to do with their environment than their intelligence, or certainly their value as a human being since we are not suppporting only the high IQ. Read Pride and Prejudice, for God's sake.

I'm as guilty as anyone of anger. But I know that most of these people are immovable so we need to CELEBRATE the ones who who are showing signs of changing, even sharing this publicly. These peope are heros, not just the ones in prominent positions giving speeches.
We need to be sympathetic to their regret and welcome them into the fold.
