Meanwhile, in the Virginia Republican Party, DEI is alive and well . . . for now, that is [View all]

Virginia's gubernatorial election is held in off years, so this year -- Nov 2025 -- we elect Gov, LtGov, Atty Gen, and all members of the General Assembly.

The Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) has a nomination process that resulted in this slate of candidates:
-- Governor: The current Lt Gov, Winsome Sears -- a black woman immigrant from Jamaica!
-- LtGov: John Reid, long-time RPV officer, a gay white man!
-- Atty Gen: The current AG, Jason Miyares, an immigrant from Cuba!

TALK ABOUT DEI GONE WILD!!

And the best part is that a couple of days ago, someone posted some gay porn on a site made up to look like Reid's site and now our present Governor, Glenn Youngkin, is demanding that Reid -- the gay guy -- drop out. In response, local county Republican Committees are telling the governor to shove it, Reid is the nominee as the result of a regular process.

Meanwhile, MAGAt voters losing their minds -- after all these years of bashing immigrants and people with dark skin and LGBTQ folks, damn if the RPV didn't up and nominate one of each for the top offices in the state!!!!

Youngkin is quietly hoping for a spot in the Trump Junta after his term is up on Jan 1, 2026 (VA gov is term-limited to one term).

Here is the Blue Virginia blog reporting.
