I feel like a tsunami is about to hit and we’re all staring at the beach because the water’s all pulled back.

It is more like: I feel like a tsunami is about to hit and we’re all stuck in the sand up to our necks, with no way to move or dig ourselves out, staring at the beach because the water’s all pulled back.

Let's not forget that most of us have little to no options when that tsunami rolls in. Most of us cannot even consider trying to get out of the way. I am pretty sure the majority sees this coming.

It is just that some of us, it seems, prefer things this way. And, I am not just referring to the wealthy.
