In reply to the discussion: I predict the military will remove Trump. [View all]KentuckyWoman
(6,950 posts)36. I don't see it.
They've spent years refusing to fill vacancies at the Pentagon for the sole purpose of packing military leadership with Trump supporters. I really want to be wrong, but I don't see any pushback from the military coming to save us.
Trump is beating the war drums in earnest. He either actually wants to invade Canada and Greenland for the natural resources, or else he wants the world to think he will. Military contractors are going to be awash in taxpayer money.
Like I said, I really want to be wrong.

Since they have no qualms killing innocents to create a head injury for Trump, I predict AF 1 going down in the Atlantic

So you would be fine with a literal complete dictatorship, one that has zero qualms about using military force to crush

I was only arguing that there are situations where that might be desirable. Unfortunately I don't see that removal

That would not stop the dictatorship (the one in my example). In fact it might hyper-charge it, as all the main players

Military is at least 50% trumpsters. Another 30% will likely follow orders, no matter what.

I don't see a scenario where this could happen now that so many 'loyal to the Constitution' types are going to be purged
