many of the local hardware stores have an extremely limited selection. An incredible number of hardware stores were put out of business by Home Depot and Lowes. There were several professional electrical and plumbing suppliers in Denver that were also put out of business by Home Depot especially..........Even the trade people started buying from Home Depot despite the fact that the quality of stuff was poor compared to the Professional Trade businesses.

In some cases, and I don't know if it is still true, but many plumbing manufacturers were building exact look alikes of faucets, disposers, etc that were cheapened but looked exactly like the professional trade versions, so that Home Depot could make much higher profits than if they stocked the regular trade versions.

A carpenter told me that the lumber sold by HD is pretty pathetic, but the homeowners don't know that....and HD has run many good lumberyards out of business, just like the did with the Pb and Elec supply houses as well as hardware stores.

I don't know about Lowe's but the guy who started HD is a MAJOR donor to Trump, like most other Corporations..........
It has gotten to the point that if you boycotted corporations that were Huge RepubliCON and Trump Donors, you wouldn't be able to buy anything.......Seriously......
Not sure that it isn't soon to be: The United Corporations of America.........(The merging of Corporation and government is FASCISM, by the way.......
