...and realized that one of the threads that runs through all of Lynch's film is the mysterious divide between our everyday world and some other strange and unseen world. In Blue Velvet that divide was Lincoln Street, which the main character's aunt would warn him not to cross. Well, he crossed it and you know how that turned out.
