(6,725 posts)as the term independent is usually employed. People who consider themselves Independents in Florida are generally listed on their voter registration cards as NPA which stands for no party affiliation. I'm not saying he's not a member of the Independent Party of Florida, but apolitical people don't understand the difference. He may be unaffiliated with any party according to his voter registration card, or he may have joined the Independent Party thinking that it actually meant he's not affiliated with any party, or he knows what the Independent Party is and knowingly joined it. That said, I'm in a very red part of Florida and I have quite a few friends who are former Republicans and are now NPAs and have nothing but disdain and disgust for Trump and everyone associated with him.
