(28,830 posts)Otherwise I don't use Amazon but at that point Amazon had the money. So I mostly use it for out of print or university press books. I just want to use the darn thing up. It was large so I didn't want to give it away but I don't want "them" to have even a nickel of free money.
Before that I was often given smaller Amazon gift cards from work or even as a present from people who don't understand that I boycott them. They think everyone uses them! Well everyone doesn't. But I gave those away, too.
But I think donating to a shelter or animal rescue or something is probably the best option. Often those organizations do probably need to order from Amazon.
To those who ask where people buy things if not from Amazon, what are these things you can't buy in person or order from somewhere else? Amazon has become insidious that way.
