Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the Dutch parliament on Tuesday, saying Ukraine is in the midst of "most intense and focused" negotiations to end Russia's nearly four-year war. "Together with partners, we are working not only to stop the bloodshed, but to change the situation along Russia's borders so there is no opportunity to start another war." Zelenskyy said in his address.
He said diplomacy should focus on making Russia learn to "live by the rule of law." Zelenskyy and some 30 other countries are expected to formally approve plans Tuesday at a ceremony in the Hague to create a compensation body to pay for damages to Ukraine caused by the Russian invasion, but questions remain about where the money will come from. - 12/16/2025.

(7,540 posts)1. NATO funds a big wall.
A big wall on the old, original border.
And has soldiers from many nations patrolling it.
Have a DMZ.
Then the cleanup starts - start with removing the landmines and rebuilding destroyed Ukrainian infrastructure and homes.
Going to be a busy time.

(4,816 posts)3. I must give Zelensky much credit for
the ability to maintain his composure while talking about Russia and the crimes Russia has committed against Ukrainians and the Ukrainian nation. His speech hits all the hard and difficult issues. There MUST be a just settlement for Ukraine and Russia must be forced to live within the rule of law. Absolutely no amnesty for war criminals.
