Let's talk about Trump's energy dominance, 13% increases, and what it means.... Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump's energy dominance, 13% increases, and what it means. Trump declared a national energy dominance month. In October, he issued a proclamation saying, quote, "As the 47th president of the United States, my energy policy is defined by maximum production, maximum prosperity, and maximum power."

On my first day in office, I declared a national energy emergency to lower escalating energy prices. So, how has that worked out? Not well. According to a new report from climate power, the report shows that production of new power sources was actually harmed by Trump's one Big Beautiful Bill. So, no maximum production, maximum prosperity. Household electric bills are up by 13%. And Trump's signature one big beautiful bill created a loss of 24,958 megawatts, no maximum power.

The opening summary of the report is just absolutely brutal for the Trump administration policies and American energy. We'll go through the first few paragraphs. Quote, since Trump took office, household electric bills have gone up 13% nationally and 7% year-over-year. Residential natural gas prices are up 98% since Trump took office and 8% year-over-year.

Prices are poised to spike even further. In July 2025, the Trump administration and congressional Republicans push through a GOP budget bill that's driving up utility costs and destroying jobs by removing cheaper, cleaner energy sources from the grid. All while funding new tax breaks for the oil and gas industries.

We've talked about the administration supporting the coal, oil, and gas industries and how it's hurting the environment in the economy by using tax money to support dirty, obsolete tech. Well, according to the report, not only was it bad for the economy and the environment, it didn't work.

Moving on to the next paragraph. Quote, "Donald Trump and Republicans are accelerating their self-inflicted energy crisis with continued project cancellations. projects that would have produced enough electricity to power the equivalent of 13 million homes, sending utility costs through the roof, closing down factories, and making us more dependent on foreign oil.

Now, most foreign policy people will point to Trump's recent misadventures in Venezuela and talk about minerals, but this context brings oil back into the picture a little bit. Next paragraph. Quote, "These actions are also dramatically increasing the pollution of our air and water. Over 165,531 jobs have already been lost or stalled in the clean energy sector since Trump's election.”

With rising energy demand driven by data centers and extreme heat, gutting clean energy is taking critical production offline and raising costs for consumers. Even if US companies were able to build out the AI infrastructure fast enough to win, Trump's energy policies may make it impossible to power them. Energy dominance turned out to be another DOGE check, or Mexico paying for the wall, or any of the other items on the list of unfulfilled promises from the Trump administration. But this one failed so hard. It was more like he took your DOGE check and mailed it to Mexico to have them tear down his wall. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
