The Trump administration has created a new militarized zone stretching from Arizona through Californias Imperial Valley and into the Otay Mountain Wilderness, placing federal land under Navy control and expanding military authority along the border. More than 7,000 troops, along with drones, helicopters, and surveillance aircraft, are now deployed under national defense rules that do not require state approval. This move comes just hours after a federal judge ruled Trump exceeded his authority by deploying National Guard troops in Los Angeles without Californias consent. Ring of Fires Jerrod Zisser breaks this down.

(6,364 posts)I still have trouble getting this into my head; trump and the republicans dont care whether something is lawful. They dont care about anything in the Constitution if it goes against what they want to do. They dont care what Americans want. And they are very, very close to not caring if they hurt ordinary citizens. Right now they seem to sort of cringe, but very soon they wont try to hide or cringe. They will use the violence to control ordinary US citizens. And they wont care who gets hurt.

Something is going on and I can't help but think Trump is helping drug flow.

(536 posts)No, I did not watch the video. I'm not sure what this has to do with the National Guard in LA and the recent court ruling. Seems like this is an alternate version of the fence that Mexico never paid for.

I can see Mexico, but CBP has left drug enforcement checkpoints on highways heading north since Trump has taken over. Our AZ AG Kris Mayes (consider throwing a campaign donation her way) has filed suit because DOJ has moved border drug enforcement people to D.C. to pick up trash, leaving the AZ border, where most fentanyl comes into the US, pretty much a sieve for traffickers.
And didn't Trump just pardon the biggest trafficker of drugs in our time?
How much do you suppose Trump is getting from cartels? Must be a whomping big payday.
