The stringers are pressure treated 2x4s.
I prefer '6-7' to the catchphrase of my kids' generation: 'No duh'. No matter what you said to them the response was always 'No duh'. Then it was the equally dismissive 'whatever', which morphed into 'fuckever'.

... a phrase commonly used by Brits, "at sixes and sevens", which I think referred to confusion. It's probably of Mary Poppins vintage, and long abandoned.
In its current context, it's a crap shoot as to whether the popularity of "6-7" is the result of brain damage, or the cause of it.
