Special Counsel Jack Smith Resigns from DOJ: Inevitable Development? Or Obeying in Advance? - Glenn Kirschner

Special Counsel Jack Smith was compelled by Department of Justice policy to dismiss the two criminal cases he brought against Donald Trump. Thereafter, Smith delivered his final Special Counsel report to the Attorney General. Accordingly, Smith's work as Special Counsel is complete.

However, some people are asking if Smith's resignation from DOJ represents obeying an aspiring dictator in advance, or if his resignation was inevitable and has nothing to do with fear of retaliation by Trump and those he appoints to take over the DOJ.

This video answers that question. - Glenn Kirschner - 01/12/2025.

required to resign when his temporary position as Special Counsel was finished.

I used to like Kirschner's explanations of what was going on legally in the investigations. But he went off the rails a few times in speculating on ways to keep Trump out of office. They were ways that never would have been tried or would not have held up if tried. Much as I wanted Trump kept out of the White House, Kirschner came across to me as superfluous and unrealistic in his suggestions.
