I know that because I was assigned to one of them, the USAF 363rd Mobile Hospital. It was on the ground and set up within 48 hours of the great Alaskan earthquake.

The 1964 Alaska earthquake, also known as the Great Alaska earthquake and Good Friday earthquake, occurred at 5:36 PM AKST on Good Friday, March 27, 1964. Unfortunately, some group of idiots destroyed those mobile hospitals and the military medics that manned those hospitals.

It was after my time as a USAF Medic, and I'm guessing it was at the same time they moved military medical care to Tricare.

In fact, it might have been an early indicator of those same idiots wanting to privatize government services.
