Crockett didn’t hold back on Patel’s qualifications, calling him “the least qualified FBI Director in the history of the FBI,” pointing out that he had never even served within the bureau before taking the top job. Crockett further accused the FBI of prioritizing optics over action, suggesting the agency was more focused on appearances than results. In a sharp jab, she remarked that it seemed like the bureau was “trying to put on a show for ‘The Apprentice,’” an apparent reference to former President Donald Trump and his influence.

Pointing to recent incidents of violence, including threats and attacks targeting Black communities and historically Black colleges, Crockett criticized the lack of visible response from the FBI. She stressed that the data clearly shows white supremacy as a major threat, yet expressed frustration that she had heard nothing from Patel that gave her confidence the issue was being taken seriously.
