Let's talk about Joe Kent quitting over Trump's war.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Joe Kent quitting over Trump's war.

Now, one thing I want to make clear from the outset to liberals. Kent is not your ally. He's not your brother. He's not your friend. Look at him like MTG. He is legitimately further right than Trump is.

Now to the bio. He enlisted at 17. He became a Ranger. He was in the process of becoming a Green Beret when 9/11 happened. By 2003, he was in Iraq. He was in Yemen. He was in North Africa. Public records say 11 combat deployments. After he left the Army around 2018, he became a paramilitary officer for CIA special activities. In 2019, his wife, who was a warrior in her own right, was killed in an attack in Syria. After that, he left government service and became involved in far-right politics. By 2025, he was Trump's lead at the National Counterterrorism Center.

This is the man who just resigned in protest over the Iran war. Not some woke lib, not some RINO. This guy is far right.

When posting his resignation letter, he said, "After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as director of the National Counterterrorism Center effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation.” His full resignation letter is quite the read and will be the topic of a lot of debate and discussion.

Kent says the war is for Israel, that Trump is in an echo chamber and heavily implies Trump has sold out the America First ideals. I don't want to get lost in the weeds. Trump's director of the National Counterterrorism Center, a Ranger, Green Beret, paramilitary officer, and Gold Star husband with 11 combat deployments, said point blank Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation.

That can't be lost in the debate. We've pointed out that Trump can't really provide a clear reason for why he put our forces in harm's way or why he's wrecking the global economy. And now people in his own administration are saying there was no imminent threat.

The administration seemed to indicate Kent wasn't privy to the conversations, so he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm going to suggest if your Iran war planning didn't include the NCTC head, your war planning was an abject failure. Iran is a country with more groups of non-state actors than this guy has combat tours. If you didn't loop in the CT guy, that says more about the administration than him.

After his resignation, Trump said, "I always thought he was a nice guy, but I always thought he was weak on security. Very weak on security."

That might be the funniest thing Trump has said this week. People who don't even like the guy would concede that while there is a giant list of reasons to not like him, being weak on security isn't one of them. If anything, he's described as overzealous.

Trump isn't convincing America to support his war. He can't even convince his own administration to support it.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
