20,000 Seafarers Stranded at Sea Due to Iran War as Food & Water Supplies Dwindle

As Iran and the United States maintain rival blockades on the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters, we look at the more than 20,000 seafarers stranded on commercial ships since the outbreak of the war and unable to move out of the region. These maritime workers are often working-class men from developing countries across the Global South who form the crews on about 1,500 oil tankers, cargo ships and other vessels currently stuck on the water. Unpaid for several weeks, they lack the visas to disembark in any of the Gulf countries near the ships.

“There is lack of food, there is lack of provisions, there is lack of water,” says Mohamed Arrachedi of the International Transport Workers’ Federation, joining us from Bilbao, Spain. “The seafarers are just exposed and absolutely vulnerable.”

We also speak with Manoj Yadav, general secretary of Forward Seamen’s Union of India, who says the mental health of the workers is rapidly deteriorating as many have also lost connection to their families.

“They are trained for serving on board merchant vessels. They are not trained for the war,” Yadav says.

Hell 20,000 is nothing compared to the number of U.S. Citizens they are destroying daily, and that number is being accelerated under their quest towards Dictatorship.......

They are targeting everyone, even their own voters, now that they are so confident of corruptly succeeding to turn the entire U.S. RED since their corrupt redistricting was given the go ahead by the Republican U.S. Supreme Court............

The Dems continue to walk down the Jungle path, swatting at mosquitoes, oblivious to the herd of charging elephants.

Those who don't learn from History are bound to repeat it....just like you said. (And that certainly includes most Dems).........That is why the Republicans love the "un-educated" and want to obliterate the educated. Trump's "Wrestlemania" Whore.....who is the Secretary of Education has vowed to get rid of that Cabinet position by the end of this Trump term........

All of the Republican U.S. Senators, the Republican U.S. House Members, and the Republican Supreme Court Justices, are soooooo stupid, they don't realize that in a Dictatorship/Tyranny THERE IS NO Judicial Branch or Legislative Branch......
