Deadline White House had a great segment on how these comments will be use in any trial of Tish James or James Comey
President Donald Trump's chief of staff Susie Wiles did more than embarrass the White House with her broad-ranging Vanity Fair interview, MS NOW's Nicolle Wallace argued to the reporter who broke the story, Chris Whipple, on Thursday.

"What did she what was the spirit of the conversation when she describes Donald Trump's personality as a, quote, 'alcoholic's personality'?" asked Wallace.
"What's amazing about the whole thing, Nicolle, is that she was it was just a matter of fact," said Whipple. "And she was matter of fact when she described the the fact that there was still a revenge and retribution campaign going full tilt. She was matter of fact when she talked about how [New York Attorney General] Letitia James was part of that retribution tour, which is practically a get-out-of-jail-free card for her attorneys. That was what was so remarkable. And I think I think part of it is that it's not that there's a bubble mentality in the Trump White House, a bunker mentality. It's really kind of a bubble. And I think at a certain point when you're surrounded by like-minded acolytes that you, you forget that what you're saying is sometimes crazy."....
"I mean, did she understand that by acknowledging the retribution and revenge and acknowledging that the Justice Department was being used in that way, that she could be subpoenaed as a witness in a vindictive prosecution?" asked Wallace.
"I have no idea," said Whipple but, he added, "She certainly wasn't reluctant to talk about it."

(2,279 posts)I don't know the woman's background. Most moves by this gang make sense at some level. I can't make any sense out of this one. It was clearly very deliberate -- a whole series of interviews. She clearly intended to attack many in Trump's circle. Did she think she was protecting Trump? But she attacked him too.
One way to explore this is to ask whom she did NOT attack. Offhand, it looks like she attacked EVERYBODY.
So why is she still in her job?
Even if it was supposed to be a distraction, it seems like a very bad idea. What did anybody expect to accomplish with this? Who sent her on this mission?

(2,279 posts)One would have thought that he would fire her immediately.
Here is my psychobabble explanation. I don't even believe it myself, but here goes.
A) Trump has always had trouble with women. Probably dates back to early family problems.
B) Trump fears strong women. Hillary, Michelle, Kamala.
C) Trump knows his mind is slipping away. Trump is now drawn to Wiles as the mother he never had. Trump is afraid of dying alone and hated.
D) Trump knows at some level that everyone around him has always hated him (including his family and especially his wife). But that was OK because they all feared him. But now, the tiny fraction of his brain that is still functional realizes that nobody fears him anymore, and they are all jockeying to dance on his grave and take over when he is gone. The only person he trusts is Wiles. And he is calmed, seeing her attack practically everybody around him.
In other words, she is that safety blankie that he needs so badly now.

(1,527 posts)I think that we need to quit saying Trump this or Trump that per se, when in reality, he wouldn't have lasted a day in his 2016 period if the Republican Senate, Republican House, and Republican members of the USSC hadn't been all in on him from day one.
Fifty years ago, with the Old Guard Republicans, he would have been impeached Jan 21, 2016 in the morning by the House, and voted out that same afternoon by the Senate.......There are hundreds of thousands veterans that are rolling over in their graves with what is currently going on.....and the hijacking of the "Democracy" that they fought and died to preserve.....
If we keep saying Trump, then the Repubs can recover when he is finally trashed, and the Republican Party can pretend it was all Trump, and not them......and continue on in Trump's footsteps with their new Quasi MAGAots, headed by the likes of Stephen Miller and Russell Vought, along with the 2025 Doctrine they all have been following........

(14,708 posts)Grand jurys have no interest in those cases anyway. And Trump isnt going to let a little matter like not having any case or crime stop him from persecuting those he dislikes.
So what difference does it make?

Trumpâs Top Aide Admits âScore Settlingâ Driving DOJâs Political Prosecutions

In interviews with Vanity Fair, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles admitted that some cases may look like retribution and implied that Trump is directing the department to take certain actions against his enemies should an opportunity present itself.
I dont think he wakes up thinking about retribution, she said. But when theres an opportunity, he will go for it.
That contradicts the administrations official narrative of the prosecutions. In public, Trump has maintained that he knows very little about the departments cases against his enemies. Senior DOJ officials have also claimed their prosecutions are driven by the rule of law and not the whims of the president.
The stunning admission from Wiles, the chief architect of Trumps 2024 presidential campaign, comes shortly after a federal judge dismissed the departments cases against New York Attorney General Letitia James and former FBI Director James Comey two of Trumps leading foes......
Wiles acknowledged that the DOJs political prosecution of James Comey also looked like retribution and couldnt offer any pushback on that view.
I mean, people could think it does look vindictive, she said. I cant tell you why you shouldnt think that.

(195 posts)Dame Susie was sent out as a distraction. She would not fart without permission from the orange goon.
Recall that the source of the sudden leak of the "Access Hollywood" tape was unknown. Speculation was that Trump did it himself, desperate for a distraction from even worse stories. Now he is desperate again. It always happens... The biggest provocateurs find they have to go bigger and bigger. What's next? Set himself on fire?
