"Marijuana" is a name founded in racism

Back in the day the authorities wanted a scary sounding Mexican name so they came up with "marijuana" to prey on people's racism.

It's cannabis.
That's it's non-racist name.

Yes, it's "cannabis," not "marijuana."

The word marijuana predates Harry J Anslinger by a couple of generations. That said, I generally just call it weed.
