LSU women's basketball team improves to 19-0 after beating Vanderbilt
BATON ROUGE, La. One point separated the teams going into the fourth quarter Monday night in the PMAC, but No. 5 LSU (19-0, 4-0 SEC) outlasted Vanderbilt (14-3, 1-3 SEC), 83-77, to remain undefeated headed into its bye.
Neither team created much separation in the game which featured seven ties and 13 lead changes. LSUs final six point edge was the largest lead by either team Monday night.
They all just care about winning, and we just made plays, said Coach Kim Mulkey whose team is now 5-0 in games decided by 10 points or less. Were going to make them sometimes and sometimes were not. Theyre not afraid of the moment.
I think it is just togetherness, FlauJae Johnson explained about winning numerous tight games. I feel like we really come together in those moments when the spotlight is big or we are in a tight game, we just know how to come together.
