TV movie about a good politician trying to un-corrupt a NY/NJ town?? Perhaps an Italian-named actor? Can't recall name

I think he either was murdered or killed himself.

I don't know why this is on my mind! I tried some of the AI movie finders and no luck.

In the last 5 years or so? I THINK it may be based on a true story.

What about appearance of the actors hair cuts, make up, clothing, age, etc...?

Drama, who done it, mystery, crime, political satire, religious, love story, based on a true story?

Who were the leads, men or women? Black and white? Based on historical fact?

I study films and usually when I think about it I can track it down eventually.
