(71,265 posts)The best is at Tenebrae-the service of light- when they sing this in darkness. Then a loud noise to signals Christ's resurrection and the lights go on. It is great in English or in Latin. It is psalm 51.

And that one voice above all the others was phenomenal! (I don't know the vocal designations for anything above baritone

(29,414 posts)and would have a greater emotional effect on a person. I'd love to see David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir live, too (preferably in that large cistern they used in one of their recordings.)

I really can't listen to it these days.
