You should be able to see them embedded in posts whether you have a Twitter account or not (or a DU account for that matter).

This is what I would have assumed.

Now I'm wondering why I've seen so many instances of people saying they can't see embedded tweets and asking for text and images from tweets to be posted separately from the embedded version. How odd!

If you're running an ad blocker in your browser, it can potentially prevent embedded tweets from displaying -- instead they just appear as a link.

Some might click on the thread and see the word Tweet without any image and give up and click back out before it finishes loading.

I still can read the first tweet even on Twitter. But any other tweets that person made on twitter I can't read. But here on DU I can read them all just fine.
