Why don't those who beat the drums of war get it?

This is the Syrian "Civil War". While it's anything but, and I mean, It's gritty, mean spirited, brutal, Ugly, and bloody! But it's their Civil war not ours. I don't want the US involved in a some one else' Civil War. Until it actually affects the People of the United States, I have no other interest other than to keep us out of it. I don't care what the argument is, what heart strings you try to tug at, or what bloody and broken child's body you try to show me. We (The US) should provide for only Humanitarian needs and support for those who are helping refugees. THAT'S IT!
