Severe Tropical Cyclone

Severe TC Jasper is moving southward from the Marshall Islands and expected to make landfall in Queensland as a Cat 5. Speaking with my sister in Queensland yesterday, she doesn't expect to be in the path it will likely hit further north, near Cairns. She is in Hervey Bay - that little hook on the east coast just below the 1016 isobar.

Down south, where I am (just across the strait from Tasmania), it's hot and very overcast. Huge drops of rain and plunking down. I'm quite enjoying it!

I was in Cairns for a week and had a blast. I hope they make it no matter how bad they are hit.

To be much affected, but thanks for the well wishes. I'm glad you enjoyed Cairns.

My favorite global satellite web site closed down and now I don't get a good global view without going to a bunch of different sites. I did see potential there yesterday. There have been some serious earthquakes around there the past week including a 7+ magnitude yesterday.

And get my weather info from the Bureau of Meteorology - I figure they are the ones who supply the other sources. It's a bit hard to find cyclone tracking sites in this neck of the wood. I sometimes use this site: https://zoom.earth/maps/satellite/

A gov't site that showed the whole globe on a loop if you chose and they remade it because it's an aviation based product but it sucks if you aren't mapping out a flight plan. And I don't like that zoom web site, it doesn't have the features I desire.

I'm still looking, I'll find one eventually.
