it seems that almost everyone is saying it was a ticky tack foul and the Dutch player took a fall (and was even going down before contact). To me, it looked like Marquez stepped right on his foot. I have no favorite between the two teams but that's how it looked to me.

So, penalty. Sad mistake by an experienced defender.

The Mexicans held back too much after their opening goal. Understandably so, given conditions, but the Dutch somehow found it in themselves to go full bore for the equaliser.

Sorry for Mexico and their manager, though. They'd been brilliant till now after the poor qualifying campaigns.

On edit: by an EXPERIENCED defender I meant to say, of course.
