First round of bids to buy Seahawks due today

The first round of bids for the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are due today, according to a report from Bloomberg on Monday.

The report stated that the Seahawks’ sale is expected to be the largest ever for an NFL franchise, surpassing the $6.05 billion the Washington Commanders sold for back in 2023.

According to the report, a Seahawks spokesperson said there wasn’t any news to share on the sale process. Allen & Co., which has been hired by the Seahawks to run the sale process, also declined to comment, per the report.

“Such a deal will again test the appetite of billionaires to drum up cash for a sports franchise,” the report said. “With team valuations surging over the last few years, the pool of potential suitors has been shrinking.”
