Related: About this forumLots of great football happening today. Who are you rooting for?
Even the Panthers were winning at halftime. Is there something in the water or is it the fall weather?

(2,755 posts)As usual, no QB. Monday, Washington.
Ex-Bronx here, still a Namath groupie.

(25,820 posts)in favor of Tyrod Taylor. The Justin Fields experiment might be over. Taylor is not the answer, however. It's pretty bleak.

(75,843 posts)4 redzone opportunities from the turnovers and they got only 10 points.
But, in the post-game Johnson & Williams both said there were things that need to be better, and Williams put it on himself.
Morbius
(893 posts)The running game was first rate. The defense was mostly good; apart from two drives - end of half and beginning of 3rd quarter - the defense was very good indeed. While Williams didn't make a lot of mistakes he also did little to win the game. The offensive line did well in the running game but didn't pass protect well. We'll see something next week one way or another; the next opponent is Baltimore. I know the Ravens have a poor record this year but I promise you they're looking forward to this game as a chance to bounce back.
ProfessorGAC
(75,843 posts)Hard not to. He missed a half-dozen throws today. That's one big reason they didn't convert more of those turnovers.

(22,567 posts)I got tickets to a few games because my roommate was in the marching band. The kids in the stands were mostly getting drunk and not watching the game. Of course, our team was about as good as Wisconsin's is.

(79,763 posts)The entire campus takes football seriously.
I did my PhD at OSU and didn't know much about football when I first arrived.
I was shocked how serious everyone was about football and the team.
Every Monday the school newspaper came out with the entire content
about the Saturday game. Every play was torn apart and critiqued.
Even when the Bucks won people were happy but mad about them not doing as well
as they could, etc.

(39,764 posts)(My school was often in the top 10 in the state in football. We had 1500 students). School fight song and colors were the same as Ohio States. Quite often he made us watch films of Ohio State games from the previous week. What that had to do with health class, I never knew.
Irish_Dem
(79,763 posts)having moved around a lot as a military kid. So I took a current events class taught
by the football coach which I would never have chosen if I had a choice in the matter.
As part of the class he required that all of us in the class
pick the winners of the Saturday and Sunday football games of his choice.
He would go over all the teams and the good and bad. (Yes what does this
have to do with current events?)
He let the class divide into small groups to do their rankings of who would win.
I paired up with another girl, most of the class were male jocks.
The funny part is that this girl and I knew NOTHING about football, in fact neither one of us had ever watched a football game from start to finish. And we consistantly WON the betting pool. Every week we kept picking the winners.
I think it was some luck but other factors. The boys in the class were not the brightest bulbs and they were all emotional and sentimental about their picks. The other gal and I just
looked at the facts, the team's history, the statistics, etc and made our choice that way.
We still never actually watched the games.
The boys were really pissed off at us. It was so funny.
The teacher/coach was speechless but began to respect us.

(29,849 posts)They have a 13-6 lead at halftime over the Packers. The Packers were able to get into position to kick and make a 61 yard field goal with only 7 seconds left before halftime to cut it to 7.
The Cardinals have been competitive in every game this season so hopefully they can hold on to the lead but if not am still happy that Arizona State defeated #7 Texas Tech yesterday so it has still been a good football weekend no matter what happens in the Cardinals & Packers game today.

The All-Encompassing NFL 2025 Viewing Plan
(For CBS/Fox/NBC/ABC games that aren't blacked out locally) One average over-the-air antenna: $40
(For CBS/Fox/NBC/ABC games that are blacked out locally) A standard Sunday Ticket annual subscription ($379) AND a monthly base subscription (4X) to YouTube TV ($73): $671 total (Psst, remember when I said watching every single game is optional?)
(For Netflix Christmas games) A standard with ads subscription (one-time): $8
(For Amazon Prime Video Thursday Night Football games) A standard monthly (4X) subscription: $36
(For Peacock-exclusive games) A premium monthly subscription: $8
(For ESPN Monday Night Football games) A monthly subscription (4X) to ESPN+ ($12), a monthly (4X) subscription to ESPN's direct streaming service ($30), OR a monthly subscription (4X) to a Disney+/Hulu/ESPN bundle ($30): $48 or $120
Rough total: $811 or $883
If you want to spend that much money accounting for every NFL game this coming regular season, more power to you. At least you know where you'll stand and that your wallet will definitely hate you after the fact. And know that Roger Goodell and all 32 owners will be laughing all the way to the bank. Well, more than they already do.

(29,849 posts)maybe in the first round.
In the 1st quarter LT Paris Johnson was doing a good job blocking Parsons but they moved Parsons over the right tackle the rest of the game and Jonah Williams had no chance in the game. Williams is on the last year of his contract so they need a RT next year. It probably hurt that that Gannon didn't call a timeout with over 40 seconds left and a 1st & 10 but they had to call timeout anyways because of the sack from Parsons on the next play.
