Birders
Related: About this forumWe're going to see the puffins in July!
My BIL is a birder in Missouri. He and my sister are joining us on a trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. We will then drive an hour and take a tour boat out to islands where (they promise) the puffins will be. Has anyone here done this? I'm happy to go, but afraid I might be seasick. It's a small boat.

(67 posts)You will see them, the weather is going to be your biggest unknown.
I have a cabin in Cutler which may be where you are headed for the trip, and the temperature can vary by 10-15 degrees if the wind changes so it's coming over the water and fog is always a thing.
It'll be a great trip, hope the weather is good and you never know where the fog will be, so fog when you leave means nothing.... very fickle weather.
How far in advance did you get your tickets ? They are usually booked for the whole season quite quickly.
Look for the Cutler array.... 19 towers 1000' tall, hard to miss on the coast ! Looks very out of place....
