multiply by six months, and a team is 18 wins over .500.
That's a 99-63 record.
Two wins a month is a record of 93-69.
Seems simple enough, right?
Nope.

(33,254 posts)I was wondering (always dangerous) during the Guardians' decent start what they had to do to maintain winning momentum. They were 15-12 at the time, three games over .500.
Seems simple enough -- three games a month.
Not feeling good about them today. They've blown about four games they should have won. Shoddy defense, shaky relief, anemic hitting (especially with RISP), stupid decisions ...

(27,096 posts)And who better to turn their fortunes around than Parker Messick?
Naturally, I would have said Gavin Williams, but he got blown up by the Blue Jays last time out. He'll be fine though!

(33,254 posts)one would think it would be easier to scrap out three extra wins per month than play for a 20-8 record in September.
Guardians did that last year. Took a miracle, plus an implosion by Detroit. Doubt Cleveland can be that lucky again.
Hunter Gaddis blew it!

(27,096 posts)that the Guardians are calling up Travis Bazzana?
Auggie
(33,254 posts)His 2B defense reportedly needs fine-tuning -- hopefully his bat does not.
Most of the line-up are suckers for the change-up and breaking stuff. Last year too. They've been preparing Bazzana for those pitches.
Next up from AAA? Maybe Cooper Ingle, catcher. He's batting better than Bazzana. Currently on the 10-day IL. Take a look at this guy if you need someone behind the plate. I think the've seen enough of Bo Naylor.
Good luck in your fantasy league.

(27,096 posts)He's gotten off to a slow start. If Bazzana can charge out of the gates in the bigs, McLain is going to be on my bench for a while.
