Buffalo 8 - Montreal 3

I normally don't post in the sports.

I've been bummed out by the Sabres game performances for several years now. I still wear my Sabres winter beanie hat and sometimes my jersey.

I'm super excited about last nights game (May 16, 2026). I certainly hope they keep up the momentum.

Let's Go, Buffalo! 🏒🥅

None of those names ring a bell for me, True.

One of my favorite hockey players is Miroslav Satan. I think the Sabres messed up not keeping him after that nasty lockout in the mid 90's.

I know who Jagr, Hasek, Biron, Lucic are....does that count?

And here's Tyler Myers teaching a nasty Flyers fan a lesson at home some years ago. lol!

^ That sounds funnier if people don't know his surname is pronounced "Shay-tan."

Was just curious how far back your Sabres fandom goes. I remember being a young fella opening up packs of hockey cards and seeing Gilbert Perreault's name in the mix. I had little awareness of who he was. I was a Mike Bossy and NY Islanders fan back then.

But on a serious note, I thought that Satan was a promising player while in the NHL and I really wished the Sabres would have kept him.

I had to lookup the timeline of the NHL lockout and when Satan was a part of the Sabres working towards the Stanley Cup was in 1999. Then came the salary disputes and then next lockout was in 2004-2005. I couldn't remember that far back.

I didn't always live in N.Y. My home state is Indiana. I've been a fan of the Sabres since Rob Ray, Brad May, Pat LaFontaine and the like so about the 90's somewhere around there. Insert a joke about the Rob Ray Rule here.

And since I lived in Indiana I didn't always have access to NHL televised games. I did attend frequent professional real live hockey games at that time too so I still got my hockey fix.
