say you've found a book, like this one : https://library.si.edu/digital-library/book/fossilcetaceaofc00mche

Click on the image of any book and it should open in an Internet book reader.

At the top of the reader is a download icon (downward-pointing arrow) click on it to download the book.

Not all books are downloadable, and the search function seems to be a little obscure at times, but there's a lot to be found just be browsing the subject categories.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
