Warby Parker sends you frames to try on, which is nice and convenient, but I've liked Zenni Optical's designs best (and their prices are amazing - I got 5 pairs for $450 - four of which were progressive and two of the progressives were sunglasses).

Zenni's frames are more appealing.

I always get a copy of my prescription after my yearly eye exam. As a matter of fact, I'm heading to pick up my new specs this afternoon. I had to wait 2 months to get an appointment for my eye exam, when I usually wait a few days. You are entitled to any information from your eye Doctor, so either have them call or fax your Rx to wherever you want your glasses made. I can't wait to pick up my new specs this afternoon, and I know you'll appreciate a nice, scratchless and smudgeless pair yourself.

but regarding your permanent "smudges," don't clean your glasses with anything (especially kleenex or paper towels) except 100% cotton, or products specifically for glasses. Paper acts like sandpaper. Use a handkerchief or a cotton t-shirt.
