My wife and I were at the park yesterday and this group of future marines were in formation. And the recruiters were helping them as they all stood in formation in PT gear. And I watched them as they went thru PT, and it was hot and the NCOs would tell these young fine Americans drink Finish that bottle off we have plenty. And after push ups or sit ups the herd would be dismissed to get another bottle of water.
And once again I was reminded how NCOs lead the way. Regardless of what branch of service. And as I sat I remembered the fine Ncos that I served with. Shit I was a cherry when I hit the 82nd from benning. Wanting to kick ass and I did not know jack. I knew enough to get in trouble and those NCOs of 325th took this cherry with big green gills and brought me up to speed help me get seasoned. From my cherry blast to helping me get my EIB expert infantry badge. I was just touched because they were truly taking care of the future marines guiding them as fine NCOs.
So like the airborne community I imagine the marine corps is one big family as well. In the airborne community we take care of our own including spouses families I was just touched.
