Seeking vet friend from long ago

When I was in college in the early to mid-70's, I hung out with a group of vets, some Viet Nam, some other places but the same time period. I would love to find a couple of them as they were very important to me, but then I moved across the country. I do not know where to start. A basic search of their names with Viet Nam veteran doesn't give me much.

Search shows me a lot of sites, but many seem basic people search with payments required. Is there a site you'd recommend or a way to search otherwise?

Thank you.

1. Man. Good luck. First and last name, where they grew up, that's where I'd start.

Selective Service numbers would trace back to place of residence, I think, then check veterans' groups local to that home address?

I don't know. I guess we/they enjoyed an anonymity that we don't today.

Good, bad, who knows.

Good luck.

A very conflicted but very fair caring person. I will check about another as he may have been. Thank you for the link. It was a long time ago and I never did let them know what they meant to the younger coming of age me. As I am aging, am thinking of it all again.
