Related: About this forumFor my dear friend Aristus.
Yesterday afternoon getting back from coast run at the terminal i ran into a former member of your tribe I have known this man for years and he is a fine human politically morally aligns with us.
He is former Abrahams crewman he is our age and as you a Gulf war veteran.
He said something to me jokingly I replied hey man Ive seen you
have finally started wearing boots with laces congratulations.
His reply all in jest fuck you crunchie I swear you must have had your parachute on upside down and landed on your head as he continued in assaulting me verbally.
I told him keep it up youll leave me no choice in going to Human Resources.
To those reading this an explanation Crunchie is term tankers refer to infantry.
And the joke about wearing boots with laces tanker boots have buckles and a joke is that they cannot tie shoelaces.

We artillerymen, on the other hand, lend dignity to what would otherwise be a bloody brawl.
The MRE chewing gum takes care of that.

It doesn't matter which; it's all horrible rotgut. But tankers have a favorite rotgut. The one we broke out the first night back in from the field.
I still have my tanker boots. A nice, high quality pair of the German-made ones. I never cared for the Corcoran tanker boots. The straps are too thin. The straps on the German boots are much wider, and overall, the boots are much more comfortable.
I don't miss the Army even a little. But I sure do miss being a tank crewman. I loved that so much. The thrill of my life.
It was nice of you to think of me, my friend. Keep your action clear, and when it rains, sling your rifle muzzle-down.
