Merlin has conquered every raised, flat surface except for 2

The kitchen counter and the end of the fireplace mantel that is next to a window. Given his amazing leaping abilities, I think those will soon be under his domain, as well.

We are under a winter weather advisory. I headed out to stock up on food for the kid cats so guess what we will be doing for the entire weekend. If you guessed snuggling in front of a blazing fireplace while binge (re)watching classic movies, you are correct.

It's starting to melt already, but it's still pretty thick on the cars, so no interest in venturing out yet.
Here, the blazing takes place in a woodstove that is currently putting out more BTUs than we can measure.
As for the cats, they are all in here in my bedroom deployed strategically on the fluffy blanket on the bed, so nobody encroaches on the other's space.

The forecast was for 4" but now they are talking 2". This is Michigan so we could end up with 6". Regardless, the roads are likely going to be pretty slippery.

Merlin has officially taken over my lap. He allows Arthur to join him. Gryff and Madoc have to take their chances.

Snuggling in front of the fire sounds like a great plan. Merlin will keep you entertained, as will some of the others. I'm glad he's doing so well, he's such a cutie.

We had about a foot of snow a few days ago but the wind storm we're having, since two days ago, has blown half of it away. It's in the 20s so the wind, 25 - 35 constant with gusts, is biting. I am on kitty watch this weekend as there are basketball games in another part of the state and travel is dicey so the neighbors are coming back after the wind dies down. Drifting had closed the roads Wednesday.

I wish I had a fireplace and kitties all in one place. Trudging over next door is like a hike in Siberia with the wind and snow. I shoveled but you couldn't tell a half hour later. If it was any deeper I might break out my skis. For now I'll wear cleats and use poles.
