(4,539 posts)4. I stopped this problem by hanging the tree from a ceiling hook.
It is fairly easy to screw a hook into the ceiling above the place you are planning to put the Christmas tree. And it is fairly easy to remove the hook after Christmas, or to hang a small plant there.

Too many knockdowns to pick up once I'd get home from work! (LOL)
Now I've got a bunch of young un's who just adore climbing each and every limb, to see how many Xmas decorations they can send flying across the room! I do think they've set up some sort of contest among themselves! (LOL)
