Related: About this forumDo you think I'm spoiling my dog?
My neighbor popped in this a.m. while I was preparing Roscoes weekly food. He cant believe thats what I go thru to feed the dog. Totally spoiled, that pup he said.
Been doing it for years
Roscoe is 13.
White and dark meat of chicken, rice, mixed veggies.
Mixed and packaged for freezing one for now, one for later.

(11,131 posts)Owing to a pancreatic problem earlier in life I have to feed him 4 smaller meals throughout the day. Depending on the days activities the amount can vary. Usually a couple tablespoons mixed with a little kibble for crunch and dental health. Weve settled on that amount keeps him happy and problem free.

(24,906 posts)We have a meat grinder attachment for our Kitchen Aid mixer. We grind up chicken hearts, gizzards, beef kidney and add mixed vegetables and rice like you do. Sometimes we use a different starch like barley, brown rice or grits. Our little one, a four pound Maltese/Yorkie, hates carrots and peas, so I put the veggies in the blender and puree it. She doesn't even know she eats carrots and peas now. If you shop around it's cheaper than some dog foods.
