Related: About this forumThis has been an exciting morning, so far.
I looked out the living room window and saw Dylan staring up the maple tree. I followed his gaze and saw DOT about 12 feet up. Oh dear.
Even if I did have a ladder tall enough there would be no way for me, or anyone, to get that scamp down. I was in the middle of making an omelet so I ran back to the kitchen to make sure nothing was burning and then headed back to check on things. Whew! Dot was down on the ground, enjoying some kibble.
I then proceeded to lecture the rest of the kitcats on how that was NOT a good thing to do because it scares me. A lot.

(26,356 posts)He is quite the hunter still. When I came outside he used to climb up a tree to show off. If I said "up the tree" he would go up. He once climbed up a tree and appeared in a bit of distress, meowing. I got my extension ladder and made the rescue.
I notice now when I come outside he goes to a tree, wiggles a bit, but then just comes over for me to check him for ticks. He has a nice heated cat house in the garage but he likes the weeds in the summer.
