(43,906 posts)I opened the bottom drawer and there was nothing. No mouse. I even checked behind. No mouse.

(19,321 posts)But "undetectable to humans" =/= nonexistent. Not only can cats see things we don't notice; they can smell all kinds of things that are imperceptible to us. I figure if I really need to know about it, I'll find out eventually.
P.S. Memo to autocorrect: please stop changing "cats" to "cars." The cats don't appreciate it, and neither do I!

(43,049 posts)too soft for us to hear, they can hear registers and tones we can't. Spooky when your cat listens intently to an insect walking in your walls.
ÁUTOcorrect loves to change into cars, I mean the name says it all!

(712 posts)Cats have incredible hearing. They can hear two octaves above human abilities and one octave above what dogs can hear.

(15,508 posts)gets so excited when leaves blow across the deck. She also attacks shadows on the wall and occasionally on the floor. The one thing that she and the last two cats we had have done is sit at the bottom of the stairs and look up the stairs like they are watching something. Dont know what they see or maybe hear, but kind of odd and interesting.
