Does anyone make hard boiled eggs in the air fryer?

Best practices for making boiled eggs in the air fryer

From yolks between runny to jammy to hard-cooked, the air fryer can handle it. No waiting for water to boil, no forgetting to set a timer at the key moment. There's a lot of internet voodoo about dos and don'ts when it comes to boiled eggs in the air fryer, but in my experience, you can disregard most of it. You don't need to bring eggs to room temperature first. You don't need a layer of foil as a nest for your eggs. You don't really even need to preheat the air fryer. (Who started the rumor that air fryers need to preheat anyway? They're not ovens.)

Test with a single egg first to determine the best temperature and timing for your air fryer model. (While I wholeheartedly stand by this method, I wouldn't go in with a dozen all at once without having tried it out first.)
Use a low temperature setting, between 270 and 300 degrees Fahrenheit

Runny yolk: 7-8 minutes
Soft yolk: 9-10 minutes
Jammy yolk: 12-13 minutes
Hard-cooked yolk: 15-17 minutes

A bit more at link, including to plunge cooked eggs into ice water immediately to keep yolks from overcooking, to arrange eggs in a single layer, & a precaution to not set temp too high as it can cause uneven cooking & eggs that are difficult to peel.

I would love to hear your thoughts & experiences with this method.

Yesterday it was steamed lettuce, today boiled eggs in the oven. Boggles my mind.

I steam my eggs. 12.5 minutes for two eggs gives me the yolks I like. I was told they are easier to peel when cooked this way, but once I discovered using a spoon, I don't have much problem peeling eggs anymore.

Still can't wrap my head around that one. Lol

I've used my Insta Pot to boil eggs & that works extremely well & they peel very easily, but I'm always open to new ideas.

How do you use a spoon to peel eggs?

Slip the spoon further & big sections (of shell) will break right off. I've tested all my spoons & have found the one with the right curve, that works the best.

Considered making hard boiled eggs in the fryer.

I might try that at some point. Just got mine set up and running again this week, had to wait for an outlet repair as there is only one realistic place in the kitchen for this appliance. I love the way it cooks bacon, though!

Still learning all the things I can make/cook in it.
