I think it is a good time to stock up on those spices you use heavily ...

I often go to the Asian food store to buy spices in bulk. I'm sure we will see huge inflation on these items after Jan 21, if not before. I know TSF's last trade war resulted in super inflated prices at the Asian store.

unless you use them a lot. If you don't need bulk quantities, buy spices at Penzey's, a great advocate for liberal causes. But it does make sense to buy now, as needed.

They may not be as strong as when they were new, but they get the job done.

It's been a few years since I've done this but it's time. Most people I buy for really don't need stuff but they have such good and fun seasonings that I think people will really like them and can be used up so as not to sit around too long.

turmeric, cayenne, garlic powder, etc that we use a LOT of I have to buy in bulk because it would be too expensive for me to buy those from Penzey's.

Because of tariffs of the kingdoms and princedoms the price for 1ounce of pepper was 1 ounce of gold.

They sell garlic/herb seasoning, 1 dollar .
It's been my go to for years, a bit peppery, a bit of garlic.
It's also easier, than buying all the different bottles of spices.

I swear, it's like my foundational spice for most of the stuff I cook, especially chili, Italian foods, and soups.

Shop at Costco and Sam's, now that I'm alone, I feel it's cost prohibitive, pay the membership, it's bulk food. I would end up with a hard chunk of spices, in a plastic bottle. Lol
